Preparing for life beyond school

Senior School

Years 10 – 12

The Senior Secondary School commences at Year 10, with a further emphasis placed upon preparing students for active citizenship with tertiary study, vocational study placements and preparation for future careers in their chosen field.
Horizon continues to assist each student to discover, develop and celebrate their individual, God-given talents and strengths and places great emphasis on encouraging students’ sense of service, courage, commitment and integrity in preparation for life beyond school.
Students are able to select from a range of subjects in Years 10, 11 and 12, giving them the opportunity to follow pathways for further study and employment. An ATAR Pathway is for students aiming for direct entry into University or Tertiary Study. A general pathway provides a full-time study program for students seeking a well rounded education leading either to further study at TAFE or into the workforce. A hybrid pathway provides for parttime study at school, and the opportunity to attain their SACE while also spending time with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) pursuing industry recognised qualifications at Certificate level.
